First I’d just like to say that if you are looking for a “Get Rich Quick” scheme don’t waste your time on Make Your Money Grow. In life, nothing that is worthwhile comes easy or free. If something has value why would someone just give it all away? If you think that you can become wealthy without educating yourself, planning your strategy and then executing your plan of action then you are just fooling yourself. I have spent thousands on on-line and off-line courses, gurus and mentors. I have spent thousands of hours reading, studying, building, re-building seeking advice and working my plan. If you are not willing to invest your money, your time and your effort, then don’t waste your time ’cause it ain’t gonna happen! If you truly want to make your money grow, buy the books, buy the courses, talk to others that are involved in the same activities, roll up your sleeves and get to work!

Make Your Money Grow is not about schemes but about legitimate principles on how to increase the value of your net worth. The funny thing is that many of the “make money” sites have pictures of flashy cars, big homes and people throwing $100 dollar bills in the air. The reality is that people who are truly wealthy don’t really act that way. They may have many of the “nicer” things in life but they don’t spend money foolishly. If they do it doesn’t last very long. True wealth takes planning, training and perseverance.

How Can You Make Your Money Grow?

So how can you make your money grow into large amounts of money?

You could steal it.
You could save it.
You could save it then invest it.
You could start a business.

DON’T Make Your Money Grow By Stealing It.

I would highly recommend against trying to make your money grow by stealing it! LOL. I’m not saying that there haven’t been a few who have been able to pull it off, but most thieves are, thankfully, caught and sent to prison. If you gain wealth in dishonest ways or by participating in illegal activities you will live your life looking over your shoulder wondering when the police will show up to take you away. Not to mention that it is hard to be proud of what you have done and built if it was built at the expense of others. Not really the way to leading a successful life.

Make Your Money Grow By Saving It

You read occasionally of someone who passed away and their relatives found a small fortune stashed away in their mattress or walls. This is very rare and they probably lived at near poverty levels while they were stashing all of the cash. This is a very difficult way of getting rich. Due to inflation and the decreasing value of the dollar you would have to be putting a large sum of money in the mattress every week for this to work. Not really a very practical way to make your money grow. At least not long term.

Make Your Money Grow By Saving It and Then Investing It

I am not saying that saving is not a good way to make your money grow. You have to have seed money so that you can invest it. If you choose your investments wisely, it is then that you will truly start to make your money grow! So what should you invest in? Here are just a few of the investments that are available.

Real Estate – You see and hear about “flipping houses” all of the time but it is very difficult to make make your money grow doing this. I didn’t say impossible, just very hard. I will discuss my reasoning later in the chapter on investments. A better way to make your money grow in my opinion is to buy a property that doesn’t need a lot of work and then rent it out. This is a long term strategy and over the next 10-30 years you are building equity that will really add up over time. There are tax benefits and cash-flow from real estate as well, making it a great way to make your money grow.

Stock and Bond Markets – The stock market can be a great place to make your money grow. It takes a lot of study and the advice of professionals but people have made substantial gains in the markets. Lately there has been a lot of volatility but there are different types of stocks for every risk level. Some are very stable, some pay dividends, some are highly risky but promise high reward. You can also buy a mutual fund which spread your risk over several different stocks. Bonds have long been considered less risky than stocks but I am not sure this remains completely true these days. Again you need to do your homework and get the advice of experts when playing in this sandbox.

401 K’s and IRA’s – These are a great way to save for retirement but defer taxes until you actually use the funds. I would highly recommend making use of 401k’s and IRA’s to make your money grow.

Commodities – If your risk tolerance is high commodities may be something you are interested in. People have made AND lost large fortunes in these markets. You should not invest in commodities if you are not willing to lose everything. You should also get advice from an expert when investing here. You can get into BIG trouble if you don’t know what you are doing. Many times you will here this segment of the markets called the “Futures Market”. Can you make your money grow in commodities? Yes but you have to be careful!

Make Your Money Grow By Starting a Business

Another way that you could make your money grow into millions is to start your own business. It’s a great way to build wealth because it is good for the community and creates jobs for people. So it helps others while building a nice little nest egg for yourself as well. The downside to owning a business is that it will take most of your waking hours and then some.

Those are the most common ways to make your money grow. We will discuss each of them in further detail in subsequent chapters.
